The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor in Quantitative and Applied Physiology. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related areas, preferably with postdoctoral experience and a successful track record of scientific productivity. As a department faculty member, the candidate will be expected to promote and lead research projects in their area of expertise, write grants, collaborate, and network with national and international colleagues. We are deeply committed to supporting research and providing the successful candidate with the necessary resources and opportunities for academic growth. The candidate should be comfortable teaching large and small groups and meeting with students in the classroom and during office hours, further contributing to the department's academic mission.
The successful candidate will lead and teach the quantitative physiology track, including mandatory and elective courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. They will be responsible for two mandatory physiology courses at the undergraduate level, in coordination with medical faculty members. Additionally, they will offer elective courses for undergraduate, and master's students interested in physiology. The candidate should advise students at all levels, integrating them into their research line and collaborating with other faculty members. Applicants are encouraged to propose potential collaborations and demonstrate how their expertise could enhance ongoing research in the department. The successful candidate will be expected to start in August 2025.
